Both PPGL and PPGI stand for Pre-Painted Galvalume and Pre-Painted Galvanized Iron, respectively. They are basically the same, with just the coating on the steel being different. Zinc-coated PPGI can protect the steel from rust and damage. PPGL is a steel with a coating polymer of a lower mix of zinc and aluminum and further improves the durability level to withstand extreme weather conditions.
Now that we know the difference, let us discuss the benefits of utilizing PPGI and PPGL for your building. One of the main things is that they are powerful. I liked that the coatings are able to prevent rust and damage, which can extend the life of buildings.
PPGI and PPGL are both suitable to be used in construction, but there are some distinctions to consider. Generally, PPGI is less expensive than PPGL, thus, it is a suitable option for the low-budget Projects. But PPGL provides better weather protection, so it does better when used for buildings in difficult environments.
Let’s now have a look at how PPGI and PPGL are produced. For both, the process is similar. It starts as galvanized steel, which is coated with a layer of zinc or a zinc-aluminum coating. Next the steel is coated with paint that adheres well to the coating.

Once the paint is applied, the steel is baked in a furnace at high temperatures that harden the paint. Through this process, PPGI and PPGL have good durability in bad weather and maintain long-lasting colors.

Besides construction, PPGI and PPGL are applicable to Many Aspects. These materials are used in the car industry to allow lightweight and strong car parts to be utilized. In home appliances, PPGI and PPGL are used for appliances like refrigerators, washing machines, etc.

These materials are also widely used for signage. These bright colors and weather resistant coatings make them ideal for outdoor signs. PPGI and PPGL are helpful materials, no matter you build a new house, design a car, or do a sign for your company.
